Garb Workday
Garb Workday
Don't have a thing to wear? Come and work on your garb and garb-related projects in the Eastern Michigan University costume shop! This is not a structured class but instead an opportunity to work on those projects you've been putting off finishing or haven't started yet. Cutting tables, sewing machines, sergers, industrial iron, and advice will be provided. Also welcome is anyone wishing to work on other fabric projects like regalia or padded fighting jacks or fencing doublets (the shop has industrial sewing machines that can sew through all those layers).
Upcoming Garb Workday sessions include:
- Sunday, Dec. 11 10am-6pm
- Saturday, Jan. 14 10am-6pm
- Saturday, Feb. 25 10am-6pm
- Saturday, March 17 10am-6pm
- Saturday, April 21 10am-6pm
Please bring your own materials and notions.
If you're planning on coming and would like patterning help, please bring your research or contact Mistress Melisant Saint-Clair in advance at melanie.AT.faucet.DOT.net so she can bring relevant resources.
Directions:
Park in the lot on your right (Ford Lot). Across the street is the Quirk Building. Enter at the front door, come through the front lobby and turn left in the hallway. Follow the hallway through two sets of double doors, then straight to a set of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, go right into the hall and then follow it around to the left to find the Costume Shop. If the front door is locked, go around the building to the left until you reach a door at the end of a deep alcove. Pound HARD on the door, and we will come let you in.
