Welcome to Cynnabar

The Barony of Cynnabar is a chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Cynnabar is one of the many baronies in the Pentamere Region of the Middle Kingdom, the third oldest kingdom in the SCA. We are bordered by the Barony of Roaring Wastes, the Barony of Northwoods, and the Shire of Talonval.

Cynnabar hosts a large variety of weekly and monthly events in addition to our weekly meetings.

Martial events include weekly Heavy Weapons Practice, Fencing, and (during the summer) Archery and melee practices.

Cynnabar has a large variety of arts and sciences to expore as well: weekly craft nights and singing practice as well as monthly Garb Workdays, Renaissance Dance Workshops, Heraldry Nights, educational workshops, and period game nights. There is also an active Brewer's Guild, Middle Eastern Dance group and Renaissance Dance Band.

Anyone is welcome to attend any of our events. Loaner weapons, armor, clothing, music and more are available for newcomers!

A Day at St. Catherine's Cloister: February 4, 2012

This event is a unique A&S experience geared at helping those want to enter an A&S competition (but aren't sure where to begin) as well as those who want to become a judge!
